Swimwear Size Guide

International standard size conversions, professional body measurement parameters, and digital 2D AutoCAD grading specifications engineered for global swimwear brands.

International Standards

Master Swimwear Sizing Matrix

At Swime Swimwear Co., Ltd., our baseline sizing spans standard international sizes from XS through XXL. Each pattern grade is engineered specifically for premium stretch fabrics to ensure anatomical contouring and consistent coverage across target export markets.

Before approving prototype samples for bulk manufacturing, cross-reference your collection specifications against our international conversion table below. All patterns can be calibrated to your proprietary brand size specs upon request.

Standard Body Dimension Breakdown

Unit:
Size AUS / UK USA EU Bust Under-Bust Waist Hips
XS 6 2 32 79 cm 68 cm 63 cm 89 cm
S 8 4 34 84 cm 73 cm 68 cm 94 cm
M 10 6 36 89 cm 78 cm 73 cm 99 cm
L 12 8 38 94 cm 83 cm 78 cm 104 cm
XL 14 10 42 99 cm 88 cm 83 cm 109 cm
XXL 16 12 44 104 cm 93 cm 88 cm 114 cm

Technical Note: Stretch Modulus & Garment Measurements

The dimensions provided above represent anatomical body parameters, not flat relaxed garment specs. Because premium swimwear fabrics such as Carvico Vita (recycled ECONYL®) and REPREVE® nylon contain 18% to 22% high-modulus elastane, garments are cut smaller than resting anatomical figures (negative ease). Once worn, the fabric elongates to form a secure, sculpting grip without gaping or sagging in water.

Standardized Protocol

How to Take Accurate Fit Model Measurements

To eliminate sizing discrepancies between your design room and our sampling studio, follow this standardized measuring methodology using a non-stretch flexible fiberglass measuring tape over unpadded base layers.

01

Bust Circumference

Measure horizontally across the apex of the chest at the fullest curve, passing directly under the armpits and across the shoulder blades without pulling taut.

02

Under-Bust Band

Measure directly around the ribcage right underneath the breast tissue. Ensure the tape remains level around the back during normal exhalation.

03

Natural Waistline

Locate the narrowest torso perimeter, typically situated 2 to 3 cm above the navel. Measure snugly while the model stands in a relaxed, natural posture.

04

Full Hip & Seat

Position the measuring tape across the widest protrusion of the buttocks and hip bones (typically 18 to 22 cm below natural waist) with feet kept together.

Digital Pattern Engineering

Precision 2D AutoCAD Pattern Grading

Manual grading errors cost swim brands thousands in unsellable stock and inconsistent fits. Swime Swimwear Co., Ltd. executes 100% of pattern drafting and sizing development inside 2D AutoCAD environments.

Our six dedicated master pattern engineers, each possessing over 15 years of technical swimwear experience, grade digital vector paths millimeter-by-millimeter. This preserves proportional leg openings, armhole clearances, crotch depths, and underwire tension identical to your original approved sample size across every extended dimension.

  • Proportional grade scaling tailored to western, Asian, and athletic body forms.
  • Half-size, custom split sizing (e.g. D-cup with XS ribcage), and plus-size additions up to 4XL.
  • Strict cutting tolerances held to +/- 0.5 cm to guarantee production fidelity.
  • Direct integration with Gerber and Optitex digital DXF/AAMA formats.

Custom Brand Grade Rules

Already have your own proprietary brand sizing spec sheet? We input your exact numeric increments into our digital plotter system, preventing common grading distortion in complex underwire, cut-out, and asymmetrical one-pieces.

Pre-Shrinkage Tested: Every fabric lot is pre-tested through sublimation heat press and wash cycles before pattern dimensions are locked.
Zero Remake Waste: Eliminates iterative sample revisions, speeding up launch lead times by up to 2 weeks.

Rigorous Inspection

Quality Control & Fit Assurance System

Garments are thoroughly audited across four independent production milestones to prevent sizing drift from prototyping through bulk export.

Initial Fit Prototype

One physical sample is cut and sewn in your selected fabric to confirm hand-feel, elasticity, silhouette curves, and seam tension against your physical fit model.

Grading Run Calibration

Digital grading coordinates are reviewed across XS to XXL. Our development coordinators check curve junctions, rubber tension, and stretch coefficient before cutting bulk lots.

AQL 2.5 Bulk Audit

Before packaging into biodegradable bags, finished units undergo manual flat-table measurement checks against approved spec sheets under strict AQL 2.5 guidelines.
